Some kids have the perfect hair for sports photography. Their hair actually accentuates the action. I generally find this with boys with longer hair because they usually don't tie their hair down into pony tails.

I am just getting into sports photography. I dabbled in soccer briefly this fall, and then leaped into basketball with both feet. If I send you a link to a website, would you critique some of my work so I can get better? There aren't many action sports photographers around here, and I'm thinking of trying my hand at making a buck or two.
I'd be glad to check out your photos.
Thanks! Visit http:// sportspicks.shutterfly.com/ to see a smattering of the stuff I took this winter. I've been a long time reader and have tried to adapt my technique to some of your suggestions.
Holloman, I like your photos. You've got some good work. I would suggest that you always get down on the field for all of your football photos. Also, for those shots where your lens just isn't long enough to fill the frame with the action, try cropping on post processing. Remember, always try to get faces.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I'll take your suggestions into account when I start shooting soccer this spring!
